Pin-up heels, wedges for wiggly gaits: walking in high heels is no beginner's feat and nothing can be left to chance to attract, intrigue, seduce. The documentary High Heels by Massimo Di Felice explores why these shoes are not just made for walking: high heels from the 1950s to the present – fashion, fetish, history, anthropology – with fashion guru (RIP) Elio Fiorucci, shoemaker Sergio Rossi, shoes designer Giancarlo Esposito (Gucci, Dior, Versace), Michela Gattermayer (Head of Elle Magazine), Rev. William Cooper (Castelvecchi – publisher), Lea Barletti, Sara Massaccesi, Eva and Susanna Schimperna, author of the book Feet.
Includes faux-vintage inserts made on film, with shoes, costumes and wigs from the archives of Rome’s greatest film costume rental companies.
