STRENGTHEN FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION IN MYANMAR
In Myanmar, a quarter of the population lives on less than a dollar a day. This condemns children to malnutrition and disease, trapping them in poverty. Helen Keller International is working to break this vicious cycle in villages just like this one, by empowering mothers to provide their children with nutritious food, and supplement their household income.
Altogether, the project has trained 12,244 mothers in agriculture, nutrition and healthcare – which means nearly 60,000 children, mothers and fathers have been reached. The skills they’ve learned will endure long after the project’s end, and create a better future for Myanmar’s children.
